Anyone who has been following my recommendations know that I don't recommend much. There are simply too many garbage products online that do nothing but confuse people even more or give them information that they can't use.

I Don't Recommend Maverick Money Makers

I do not recommend this program.

There are quite a number of reviews that will sing praises about Maverick Money Makers but I did a little digging and found that the real users have quite a bit of problems with this program ranging from being taught unethical business practices to outdated material and not to mention the high monthly membership fee.

One of the scams that I've been coming across lately...too often is the Google Money Systems or Google cash kits. They're known by a lot of names and are very misleading in their advertising. There are quite a bit of people who claim to be getting results with the Google Money kits but their aim is really to get you to sign up for the kits.

How to Post Search Engine Ads

One of the quickest ways to make money from home is to post ads on online search engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN.

By far the most popular search engine to post ads on is Google. You've probably seen promotions about making money from Google.

Here's how it works.

The advertiser - you - posts an ad on the search engine. You specifies which keywords you want Google to show your ad for.

A searcher types the keyword into the search engine and the results come up. On the right hand side Google shows ads for that keyword by advertisers. If the searcher clicks your ad, you pay Google a small fee, usually some cents, and the searcher is taken to your advertised site either via your affiliate link or the site that you specified when making the ad.

This type of advertising is called PPC advertising and can be highly profitable once you know what you're doing.

PPC, which stands for pay per click is a paid form of advertising for your affiliate promotions and has its advantages and disadvantages. Although you don't need money to make money online, PPC requires that you have a budget which doesn't necessarily have to be huge. You can open a Google Adwords account with only $5.

The advantages of posting search engine ads:

You can get visitors to your site very fast ie. in as little as 15 minutes.
You can target specific keywords that make money
Once your ad is making money at a profitable rate you can run the campaign almost on autopilot.
Posting search engine ads is more predicatable than other forms of advertising.

The disadvantages of posting search engine ads:

Google is usually picky about what you should have on your website.
If you aren't careful you can blow your budget without making a profit or sale.
You need to know exactly what you're doing before you attempt to have your ad go live.

Posting search engine ads can be fun once you know what you're doing and can make you a lot of money in a short space of time. Its not uncommon to see people make $300 and $400 per day although I know some guys who make thousands per day but these guys usually have big budgets.

3. Wealthy Affiliate - offers an accreditation course in PPC. The guys who run WA are also the writers of Beating Adwords - experts who can turn you from clueless to making money posting search engine ads.

Most people have a passion, a hobby or a past time that they are really into and could probably talk about for hours on end.

Thing is, most people who have these passions don't know how to make money on the internet with this knowledge... or they probably didn't realize that they can.

One of the keys to making money online is to be an expert or authority on a topic...or at least appearing to be one.

This is so easy for people with passions...they are real experts and this puts them in a position to make a lot of money in their specific niches.

So what would you need to do to make money if you do have a passion for a subject?

You will need to know how to reach your audience...your audience being people just like you. These people can be in other countries and you will still be able to reach them thanks to the internet.

How Do You Reach Your Audience?

Learning how to promote stuff online to make money will allow you to reach your audience...the ones with money who are also passionate about the same thing you're passionate about. Once you connect with them it will be easy for you to get them to purchase from you...much easier than if you knew nothing about the topic.

What To Sell?

You could make your own product but that takes a bit more specific know how. The easiest way to make money is to promote stuff as an affiliate marketer and collect the commissions or percentage of what the merchant company sells the item for. Some companies will even pay you even if the person doesn't buy anything but rather supplies them with their name and email address.

Here's an example of how it could go.

Kate really enjoys watching movies. She has seen all the new releases and spends her spare time renting dvds and going to the movies. She has seen a lot of classics and even some of the worst movies made. She knows and loves to watch the actors and also checks out the awards when they're aired on tv. Kate is a movie buff. She lives for movies.

So all Kate needs to do is to find ways to make money with her passion for movies.

She could start a movie review blog and promote dvds on Amazon, rentals from NetFlix and even movie tickets from Fandango. They all have affiliate programs that pay you for each sale. Millions of people also visit the internet to check out movie reviews every month.

But Kate needs to be careful. She must learn exactly how to do this or she may not get much visitors because of big competitors like IGN, Rotten Tomatoes and other big name movie blogs. She may be tempted to give up hope but in any industry where there is big competition there is lots of money being made...lots!

How can Kate learn?

Kate already has the passion for movies...so she knows how to write stuff that will appeal to audiences. Even if she doesn't want to write she can still use other means like video.

Kate can join the top make money training site on the internet, Wealthy Affiliate, and learn how to get her blog and her articles or videos ranking on the first page of Google where people will see them. A membership like this would be worth a lot to Kate since she will be able to use the knowledge to make money from something she loves.

Easy Way To Find Something To Promote (That Will Make Money)

Most people don't realize that the first step...the very first...to making money online is to find something to promote or to find an audience that has a need. This is called finding a niche.

Finding a niche can sometimes be a very daunting task to many who are just starting out. It doesn't have to be really. Niches are all around us and if you take a look at yourself you might even be part of a niche.

So how do we find a niche.

Take a look at yourself - Is there something you're very passionate about? Something that you absolutely love to do that you would spend money on? Like a hobby? That could be a niche. Is there something that is a problem to you that you need to spend money on for a solution? Like acne, etc?

Many other people are likely to have these passions and problems so you could say that these are niches where people will spend money. If people spend money then that gives you an opportunity to make money.

News and Trends - Is there something that people are talking about a lot at the moment? Whats on the news right now? Can you find situations related to these trends where people will spend money? If so, then you have a really hot niche in front of you. Here's a link where you can find stuff thats really hot in the news right now. Its updated hourly so you always know whats hot.

Google Hot Trends

TV and Magazine ads and articles - You can get lots of ideas from looking at television and also from reading magazines. Some magazines even specialize in one topic (thats a niche) and some tv ads are for products specifically targeted to a niche. You can get ideas for articles by looking through popular magazines once you've found a niche.

These three ideas for finding something to promote are a great way to start. You will most definitely find something to promote if you use one of these methods. That is the first step to making money online - finding a hot niche.

The next step is to do some thorough research. Skipping the research phase is not recommended or else you'll end up with a hot topic, a hot product, a lot of visitors but NO MONEY.

Is There An Easy Way?

There is an easy way to skip though finding a niche and doing the research.

What if you had a niche already found for you? What if all the research was already done for you?

There is such a system. Its called Niche Q.

As of this writing, Niche Q isn't available as yet but will be in a couple of weeks. Hello John,

I'm glad you asked about Profit Lance as I'm in the midst of doing a review and comparison about the two programs.

Profit Lance and Wealthy Affiliate are both highly rated programs but Wealthy Affiliate has everything Profit Lance has and more.

While there are quite a bit of success stories coming out of Profit Lance, they do lack some stuff that Wealthy Affiliate has.

For example, there is no discussion forum on Profit Lance so you'll have this feeling of being by yourself in your learning. Wealthy Affiliate has a discussion forum where you can ask for help when you get stuck or you come across something that you don't understand. This can speed up your progress and help you avoid a lot of costly mistakes.

Another thing Profit Lance lacks is the range of tools Wealthy Affiliate comes with.

Wealthy Affiliate has:

A website builder
Free website hosting for your website
A Clickbank research tool (easy to find which products are hot and which aren't)
A Sharing Zone (other members share tuturials, pdfs, videos)
WA Gold (Donate and recieve "gold" when you or other members contribute value)
Members Only Affiliate Program (sell 2 memberships and your's is "free")
A Keyword research tool
WA Jobs (Make money by doing simple jobs for other members)
Link Cloaker and tracker (Hide Affiliate links and see how many people clicked)
More added from time to time.

Profit Lance does have all these things but you can still use their system to make money - Wealthy Affiliate just makes it a lot more easier. In fact some of the members on Wealthy Affiliate have been members of Profit Lance and some of them use both memberships. I do recommend Profit Lance if you want a good foundation with internet marketing but you'll be missing out on all the benefits Wealthy Affiliate offers so I will recommend you sign up
with Wealthy Affiliate at some point.

Some people are also wary that Profit Lance might be a scam. It most definitely is not. Here's a very good article that reviews and compare both programs.

How do you make money with surveys?

This is a question I got this morning. I made a post about internet scams a while back that mentioned surveys among the top 4 of worst ways to make money online.

So here's the truth about online survey sites.

Surveys are one of the biggest scams online. The advertisers prey on people who want to make money online easily without doing much but want a bit of fun.

Incentived offers are the worst of the lot . These type of surveys are called incentived offers because the advertiser or the owner of the site offer something like a PSP, Laptop, etc as an incentive and you sign up for offers some of them requiring that you enter your credit card info for a free sample.

The person who makes money is the owner of the site. They get anywhere from $5 - $200 just for getting someone to enter their credit card info or requesting a free sample so they are able to pay you anywhere from a few pennies to bigger amounts or you get a chance at the incentive. Most times you won't get the incentive because the owner of the site is greedy or there is no physical incentive in the first place.

Other survey sites where you fill out polls and questionairres don't pay much - usually a few cents per survey and that is if you do qualify in the first place. Others pay you in useless Amazon vouchers and gift cards or enter you in draws to win money and prizes - which are usually bogus to begin with. Some sites make you jump through a bunch of hoops in order to get a payout.

The best way to make money online is to be a part of a market where people are spending money, which I will show you when you sign up for the 7 day course.

Do You Need A Website To Make Money Online?

When you think about making money online you think about websites, where people go and buy stuff. The person/company that owns the website makes money for sure.

Do you really need a website to make money online?

A website would be the ideal thing to have as an internet/affiliate marketer and is a must at some point if you are serious about making money online but...

You DO NOT need a website to make money online.

Affiliate marketing is one of the best businesses to be in as it allows you to start with little to no expenses. And this means that you do not have to worry about paying someone to make a website for you or spend countless hours trying to build one.

With affiliate marketing, the websites are provided for you already in the form of merchant companies who pay you a percentage of the money they make. All you have to do is send people to their websites and all you need to do that is a special link which is provided by the merchant themselves.

The next worry is where do you put the link so people can get to the merchant website in order for you to be paid.

Again, your own website would be the ideal thing but you do not need one.

There are lots of places online where you can submit your affiliate link but you have to do it in a way that will be attractive to potential users (people who will buy through your link). Writing articles, participating in forums, classified ad sites, your social networking profile and blogs are some of the places you can use to make up for not having a website.

Work From Home - No Experience Necessary

A college degree certainly helps these days if you need a job and while I am all for higher learning it is not necessary at all if you are looking to work online.

As a matter of fact, making money from the internet is perfect for someone who did not go to college or doesn't have the qualifications to get a high paying job.

I decided that I wasn't going to college because I just was fed up of school, and turns out I found what I wanted to do with my life was to become an internet marketer. Knowing that some internet marketers make multi-millions per year helped me make up my mind.

Everything can be learned and if you have patience and determination then you can potentially go on to earn more than some college graduates make in a year.

Top 4 Internet Scams To Avoid (Part 2)

In Part 1 I told you about Paid Surveys and Data Entry. Here's the other 2 most popular internet scams to avoid.

Internet MLM

They lure you to sign up and give you a cookie cutter site that you can use to advertise to your friends to try to get them to sign up. There usually is no benefit to signing up, no other way to earn money than to pay for a membership and sell the opportunity to "5 of your friends".

Some of them even charge huge amounts for you to join and then they have you give up your first two sales to your upline. Then whatever you make after is yours. Hmmm. Seems like the person at the top is making all the money.

Anything closely resembles this is an internet MLM or ponzi scheme, not a beneficial way for you to make money using the internet. There is no product that you can sell to others so your money is totally dependent on people getting suckered into this.

Get Rich Quick

You probably know these. These sites tell you how you can make money almost overnight. Just set it up and watch the money pour into your bank account. They further try to pull you in by showing you their new Lambourghini that they bought or their mansion.

Most of the times its some broke kid who wants to make some money and they start making money by selling their 'get rich quick' program.

I probably should have said this first but if you're still reading, there is no 'get rich quick' on the internet. It takes hard work and dedication just like any other business, but if you're good enough and get the right training, you could be earning a substantial income in just a few months.

Just be on the look out for what you are presented with and always do your research.

Top 4 Internet Scams To Avoid (Part 1)

People will do anything to make money...and I don't mean the ones who are looking to make money online. I'm talking about the people who set up websites to prey on people looking to make money online.

Thats why you should always be careful how you go about looking for opportunities on the internet.

Here are the top 4 types of programs to avoid on the internet.

Paid Surveys

Paid Surveys promise you easy money just by answering questionairres and there are in fact sites that will pay. The thing is the sites tell you that you can earn $5 -$150 for each survey that you fill out. I've been involved with these types of programs before and rarely do I ever see a survey for $5 or more. Most usually pay $2 the most.

When there is a survey for any substantial amount you usually have to qualify by answering a screening survey and the survey usually takes place over a few days. If you do happen to get a survey like this it only happens once in a blue moon.

The websites that are set up to show you these survey sites usually charge somewhere like $35 and all they do is give you links to survey sites that you could otherwise find free elsewhere. Don't pay for these sites. Keep in mind that even if you try out surveys you won't make much money as you will usually have to put up with all kinds of rules such as a limit for payout and other mumbo jumbo.

Again the promise of easy money catches a lot of people. This is one of those 'too good to be true' programs. See a site that says that you can earn money by typing data online and you'll get paid by companies that never turn you down... close your browser window immediately.

Especially if they charge you money. What happens is they tell you one thing on the site and when you sign up its totally different, usually the same data entry but you make money by selling their program online through Google Adwords. Not fair at all. Most people who just want to do data entry don't even want to do affiliate marketing which is why they end up disappointed and for good reason.

Stay away from these types of programs.

Infomercial Scams

Late night infomercials are a great way to get visitors to a website where they can learn more or buy a product. But be careful.

The audience watching these late night infomercials are largely made up of people who know little or nothing about making money online.

Because of this they would bite at the promise of quick and easy money this being the case of one particular latenight infomercial... Jeff Paul's Shortcuts to Internet Millions.

This particular product is very deceptively promoted and the unsuspecting viewer who dreams of easy cash will usually get lured in.

My word of advice is whenever you hear about a particular product do some research and make sure that you are reliably informed about it before taking out your credit card. This will not only save you from being scammed but it will save you your hard earned money.

Billions of dollars are being made every year on the internet as people get more comfortable making purchases online. This presents the opportunity for ordinary people to make money from the comfort of their own homes.

Web Design - There's big demand for talented web designers since the face of any online business is a website. A nicely designed website can mean the difference between making no money online and making thousands. Web designers usually get paid from $500 - $5000 per website and even more.

Freelance Jobs - If you're good at something, then your services might be needed online. Some companies and online businesses need work done probably because they cant do it themselves or need to outsource the work so they can have time to do something else. Advertisers post jobs and you bid on them in a marketplace. The advertiser selects a winning bid and that person is paid when the job is completed. Web design, article writing, proof reading and data entry are some examples of jobs available at freelance sites.

Get Paid To Write - Websites need content and one of latest ways to make money using the internet is to submit content to websites. This comes in the form of writing short articles and even uploading photos and videos after creating a profile. Sites like Helium and Associated Content pay you for submitting articles.

Revenue Sharing - Some sites also pay you for participating on their website and will share revenue with you once you set up an account with a third party site that they use to display ads on their site. Adsense revenue sharing is one such example and there are lots of sites now sharing revenue with their members.

Selling Your Own Product or Service - If you have a product or service that could be particularly useful to a group of people then you can set up a website with an online payment processor and sell your product. Lots of people are making good money selling ebooks and software online. These are popular because they are instantly downloadable.

These are just 7 of the ways you can make money using the internet from home. There are more ways but these are by far the most popular. Be careful though, not every one is honest and there are a lot of scams out there. If you don't do the proper research you could end up disappointed.
